JOB VACANCY: Communication officer

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures planning and design of internal and external strategies for communications and outreach geared towards supporting VOHUN’s partnership-building:

• Planning and elaboration of communications needs assessments for VOHUN.
• Well-developed communications and outreach strategy based on the VOHUN communications strategy.

2. Manages the writing, development, design, production and dissemination of diverse publications and news releases:

• Coordination and management of all VOHUN publication activities, including content management, editing, norms for publishing, design, liaison with printers and other suppliers to oversee production and supervision of publications dissemination.
• Editing, publication and dissemination of materials drafted by other universities in the network.

3. Maintain VOHUN website and social media sites (Facebook, and YouTube) such as daily monitoring, posting and content development.

4. Assist in organizing and generating public support for special events and campaigns to promote strategic conservation goals.

5. Report to the Program Manager and Project Coordinator on a regular basis.

Requirements

• At least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, public relations, social sciences, international relations, or related field.
• At least 1 years of relevant professional experience in communications at the national or international level, including experience in media relations.
• Previous work experience with similar projects, in particular with international agencies, is strongly recommended.
• Fluency in English. both oral and written, are required.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office package, Internet).
• Self-starting, independent and responsible personality.
• Knowledge of change management and institutions at national and local levels would be an advantage.
