Topic: Veterinary contribution to COVID-19 from a Biorisk Management (BRM) One Health Perspective
Date time: June 29 – 20:00 – 21:30, ICT
To help us better understand COVID-19 in animals, and what it means for people, Vietnam One Health University Network (VOHUN) in collaboration with U.S. Department of Defense Biological Threat Reduction Program (BTRP) and Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) will host the third session of the One Health BRM case-based learning monthly series on June 29, 2020 at 8:00 PM ICT and 9:00 AM EDT. VOHUN student teams, comprised of both veterinary and medical/public health students will present a case on COVID-19 from the veterinary perspective. The session will include guest panelists from Vietnam and the U.S to answer questions and provide expertise and perspectives on COVID-19 and Biorisk Management concepts. SNL will provide technical subject expertise on Biorisk Management related to the student case. Please see below with the detailed agenda:
What will the session offer?
The aim is to develop a One Health BRM virtual community of practice, that works together on sharing and solving common One Health problems related to the communities.
The session will offer interactive dialogue and knowledge sharing through a veterinary case presentation on COVID-19 from a BRM One Health Perspective among VOHUN Students and One Health community experts. A panel discussion will further explore the issues related to biorisk management for animal health workers and the public that also provides active dialogue about the case study. During the session, participants will be encouraged to ask relevant questions on the topic, which will be addressed by the panel of experts. Participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance during the registration process for the panel discussion.
