Workshop to Develop the One Health Curriculum for Continuing Education/Training Course

On 11 June, 2016, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Vietnam National University of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Hanoi School of Public Health, held a workshop on developing the One Health curriculum for a continuing education/training course. The objective of the workshop was to finalize the content and training plan for the One Health training course that will be conducted for veterinary workers and health workers as an introduction to the One Health concept.

During the workshop, Dr. Trinh Dinh Thau, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, presented the first draft of the training book, which had contributions from lecturers from the Hanoi School of Public Health and the Vietnam National University of Agriculture.

Two groups of lecturers organized the aims, training methods, and timeline for the training course. According to the new plan, the course participants will be trained for one month, with one week dedicated to theory and three weeks reserved for site visits and reporting. The participants will be chosen from provincial Sub-Departments of Animal Health and health workers from provincial Centers for Preventive Medicine.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants approved of the workshop's results with the requirement that the VOHUN NCO provides support for the final course.
